Mayflower

Mayflower Autonomous Ship Project

400 years after the departure of the original Mayflower ship from Plymouth UK in 1602, the Mayflower Autonomous Ship set sail for Plymouth USA, completing the world’s first autonomous Atlantic crossing. Driven by MarineAI’s tehcnology, in collaboration with MSubs, IBM and ProMare, the 15m-long, solar powered trimaran was piloted completely by AI technology.

The Mayflower Autonomous Ship Project demonstrated the innovation within the marine technology space and showed the potential for the adoption of autonomy within the maritime sector – for industries such as shipping, oil & gas, security, aquaculture and communications.
