An Advanced Solution for Fully Autonomous Vessel Control

GuardianAI™ Autonomy is a state-of-the-art modular autonomous vessel control system capable of delivering IMO Level 4+ maritime autonomy. Integrating easily with sensors and systems fitted to any vessel, the technology can be used for full autonomy, remote-control or crewed missions.

GuardianAI™ Autonomy leverages high-fidelity situational awareness with tactical path routing and dynamic vessel control to ensure safe, efficient, and COLREG-compliant maritime navigation.

GuardianAI™ Autonomy’s sophisticated capabilities are divided between three layers: Sense, Decide and Act.

Sense

The sense layer provides Autonomy with a comprehensive situation awareness picture for the vessel. Real-time, high fidelity data from multiple sensor types is aggregated to create a trusted contact map for use by the Decide layer, and for viewing by an operator. This enables quick identification of all potential hazards, crucial for safe and COLREG-compliant navigation.

Identified contacts are further inspected and information about their speed, heading and predicted path is provided. Along with robust own ship navigation state data, this delivers all the information required for precise navigation.

Decide

The decide layer provides the key autonomy capabilities of tactical route planning and obstacle avoidance. GuardianAI™ Autonomy considers all potential hazards and contacts simultaneously, making intelligent and efficient decisions that take the whole picture into account.

The ability to set mission-specific constraints (such as strict speed adherence for sensor payloads or optimisation based on fuel efficiency, weather conditions and operational timing) makes GuardianAI™ incredibly adaptable and configurable. Effective mission management allows GuardianAI™ to respond autonomously to situational data and system health information.

Act

The act layer gives the vessel the ability to operate in full autonomy mode, with GuardianAI™ taking full control of the vessel’s actuators. Tactical routes are seamlessly executed to ensure precise and efficeint movement of the vessel.

In remote control mode, the vessel’s movements are controlled from a remote operating centre, with an operator using our interface to follow the suggested path for the vessel, either on auto-pilot, or controlling individual thrusters and actuators.

Guardian Inspect UI suite

Inspect is the mission control hub –  a web-based user interface that allows operators to monitor and control the vessel, while managing mission plans remotely.
